How Does a Mobile Frame Filter Press Work

1. Assembly of Plates and Frames:The filter press is composed of alternating plates and frames, which are separated by a small gap. Each plate is covered with a filter cloth that allows liquids to pass through while retaining the solids .
2. Feeding the Slurry:To begin the process, the slurry (mixture of liquid and solid particles) is pumped into the first plate. From there, it is distributed evenly across the surface of the plate .
3. Filtration Process:As the slurry spreads across the plate, the liquid component passes through the filter cloth and enters the gap between the plates. The filter cloth retains the solid particles, forming a filter cake on its surface .
4. Collection of Filtrate and Cake:The filtrate (liquid that has passed through the filter cloth) is collected in a tank for further use or disposal, while the solid cake is built up within the frame. Once the cycle is complete, the filter cake is ready to be released .
