How Does a Mobile Frame Filter Press Work

- The Mobile Frame Filter Press has alternating plates and frames. There’s a small space between them. Each plate in the filter press has a filter cloth covering it. This cloth lets liquids go through but keeps the solids.
- Feeding the Slurry
- To start the process in the Mobile Frame Filter Press, we pump the slurry (a mix of liquid and solid particles) into the first plate. Then, it spreads evenly over the plate’s surface.
- Filtration Process
- When the slurry spreads on the plate in the Mobile Frame Filter Press, the liquid part goes through the filter cloth and into the gap between the plates. The filter cloth holds back the solid particles. As a result, a filter cake starts to form on the cloth’s surface in it.
- Collection of Filtrate and Cake
- In the Mobile Frame Filter Press, we collect the filtrate (the liquid that passed through the filter cloth) in a tank. We can use it later or dispose of it. Meanwhile, the solid cake builds up inside the frame. Once the whole cycle in the Mobile Frame Filter Press is done, we can release the filter cake.
