The working principle of the sludge dewatering filter press is to place the sludge in a high-pressure environment through the cooperation of filter plates and filter cloths. The Filter Press is suitable for almost all types of sludge:

1. For hydrophilic organic sludge, inorganic conditioning is typically recommended to ensure effective cake release and minimize adherence to the filter cloth.
2. The addition of lime is generally required only for the filtration of hydrophilic inorganic sludges.
3. Hydrophobic inorganic sludges, which have a high density, are well-suited for the filter press and do not require any preliminary conditioning prior to dewatering.
4. The filter press can handle oily sludges containing light oils; however, the presence of grease can impede filter operation. Regular degreasing of the filter cloths is therefore necessary.
